Today's slate.

The Big Hurst - John Lackey

skoormit - C.J. Wilson

La Osa Rosa - Zack Greinke

The Big Hurst: A bit back, I did a little research about this year's park factors as compared to 2012.  (Link 1, Link 2)  Some parks seem to have changed a lot this year.  There's more data at this point, and the biggest movers look like the White Sox, Mariners, D-Backs, and Rockies.  The Mariners and D-Backs may be the most interesting.  Seattle has a well-known pitcher's park, but it's playing neutral this year.  Arizona has a well-known hitter's park, but it's even a bit pitcher-ish this year.  How is that possible?  What's up?  Again, I wish I knew someone familiar with these teams who might shed some light on this.  I haven't heard any reporting, but I haven't looked too hard yet.  Other notable parks that may be doing something different this year include the Orioles, Red Sox, Angels, Rangers, Phillies, and Cubs.

RESULTS

The Big Hurst: I really just want a whiff of what 5 points smells like.  From YCPB, John Lackey has an ERA under three, but is 7-7 on the 59-40 Red Sox.  Erik Bedard was removed from the game after 6.1 innings, and he had a no-hitter at the time, but also allowed two runs.  His final line is very odd.  I don't know what to think of Ross Wolf's career.  Up briefly with Florida in 2007.  Back down.  Up briefly with Oakland in 2010.  Back down.  Up again with Texas in 2013.  It's like morse code for quad-A.
